2018 Keynote

Chef Jeff Henderson
Jeff Henderson inspires with his emotional journey of redemption from the streets to the stove, sharing real-life strategies to help you achieve your dreams, no matter your stage of life.

From humble beginnings in South Central Los Angeles, to life as an imprisoned drug dealer, and then as an award-winning celebrity chef and best-selling author, Jeff is a role model for anyone who needs the encouragement to reinvent their life. Since he discovered his passion and gift for cooking in the unlikeliest of places—prison—Jeff has completely turned his life around, and today serves as a popular and powerful voice for self-transformation.

The creator of Food Network's reality series, The Chef Jeff Project, host of “Family Style with Chef Jeff,” and the star of the nationally syndicated series, Flip My Food with Chef Jeff, he is also the best-selling author of two books.

From overcoming hardship to identifying one’s personal talents, Jeff reveals his hard-knock yet transformative life lessons and the secrets to rising above and realizing your potential. His dynamic and engaging presentations help audiences discover their hidden business aptitudes, make life-changing decisions, and gain a new foothold on the ladder to success.

2018 Education

Subject to Change

Tuesday, Nov. 13
9-10 a.m. | Education Session

Presented by Garland Preddy

The RFP is the most important meeting document and sets the stage for negotiations. A well-planned RFP can help planners get what they need for the meeting and helps the supplier determine if this is a good piece of business for the venue.

After this session, attendees will know the difference between an RFP and other procurement requests, how to identify what is important and the best way to ask for it, and the significance of the statement of work.

10:30-11:30 a.m. | Master Class

Presented by Jim Spellos

What would you do if something happened to you (or a colleague or attendee) while running an event? What may save your life (or someone else's) is the mobile device that is always at your side. But do you have it prepared to be of use in case of an emergency?

Noon-2 p.m. | Lunch General Session

Presented by Darrell Hammond, Sr.

Difficult people are everywhere. Don’t believe me? Just look in the mirror. We all come from different backgrounds and possess different values, perspectives and opinions. This workshop explores how we can develop a shared communication model with others. We will learn about communication styles, and how best to listen and speak to those who appear to be critical and confrontational.
